art B Simpson is under heavy psychological pressure due to a miniature golf tournament (mini golf) where they must compete against skillful rival. Lisa decides to help her sister with some Zen techniques to free your mind, and he raises these two koans :

  • What is the sound of the palm of a (single) hand (clap) ?
  • If a tree falls in the forest and no ones around (To hear) make a sound?
At first, Bart tries to give a response from your rational mind. The same tries the second, until Lisa asked how can sound exist if no one will listen? Given this approach, Bart appears to reach "satori " or intuitive understanding.

Bart gets the state of satori , to transcend its logical and rational mind.
